Gay San Francisco - SOMA (south of Market)
This district covers the largest area, and is by far the most diverse. The closer you get to Market, the scarier it gets - so beware out-of-towners! The biggest parties happen here, yet places like The Eagle also reside here. This is the first area I became familiar with on my first trip to San Francisco - there are some really fun places to drink and be merry! Also, for fellow out-of-towners like myself, beware that my (former) favorite place is no more - Club Universe over at Club Townsend! The former owner has reopened another club called Mezzanine - just a block off Market, which supposedly has a gay Saturday night. If anyone wants to share, let me know if it as much fun as her former club!
