Even in the
off-season, this place is a blast. Busy both Saturday and Sunday nights, it is
the place to end up at on Saturdays. As you enter, there is a bar immediately to
your left, and the dance floor is almost immediately to your right. When busy,
you have to go all the way around the dancing mob, to the right, where you will
find another bar to the back, and an outdoor area way in the back. While I found
many of the other bars/clubs I visited to be very friendly, I found a noticeable
lack of friendliness here both nights I went. That includes staff and visitors.
And the funny thing is, lots of single boys that had to have been from
out-of-town like myself. Very cute crowd, but the club could learn a thing or
two about making outsiders feel a bit more comfortable from, oh, let's say the
Pied or the Wave. Music was awesome, sound system was great, and the dance floor
was small, bus expandable, due to its openness.
This appears to a
somewhat mysterious place, due to the fact it is set way back off the street
under a very long canopy. Don't let that scare you! As you enter, there is a bar
to the right, an outdoor patio straight ahead, and a dance floor right in front
of you. As you enter, to the left and around, is another small bar area.
While I went to this
bar/dance club on the off-season, I found the staff to be very friendly. This is
the place to go after the Boatslip tea-dance, before heading to the Purgatory or
the A-House.
